Program supports greater industry adoption of the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) accuracy
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada – October 31, 2016 – TrainingPort.net is supporting Baldwin Aviation’s SAFETY Co-Op TM program for small corporate flight departments seeking an affordable path to achieve the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) registration.
Last year, the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC), which oversees the IS- BAO, implemented a new policy to dramatically reduce the time and cost required to achieve and maintain the IS-BAO.
The SAFETY Co-Op TM program was created for small operators to achieve an IS-BAO registration, with the support of Baldwin Aviation.
“We are very pleased that the Baldwin Aviation team has selected TrainingPort.net to be one of its preferred service providers. Providing online aviation operational safety training for the SAFETY Co-Op program is an added cost-effective benefit for the small operator,” says Scott Macpherson, President of TrainingPort.net. “Our company launched the first online IS-BAO training program 10-years ago to provide a comprehensive resource for small flight departments wanting to implement industry best practices.”
TrainingPort was conceived when Macpherson was managing a small Canadian flight department that became the first in the world to achieve IS-BAO registration in 2003.
“We identified a need for an online training program that addressed a lot more than prescribed requirements. The IS-BAO raised the bar on operating standards and training requirements,” adds Macpherson.
In 2012, Baldwin Aviation was the first company to be designated an IS-BAO International Standards Service Support Affiliate (IS3A). The IS-BAO centers on the Safety Management System (SMS) and leads the operator from establishing principles, to achieving an effective SMS that manages risk and nurtures the development a strong safety culture.
“We offer an affordable, simplified approach to the implementation and maintenance of an SMS for the small operator. By providing a comprehensive, ever-evolving safety program with the added benefit of a designated Baldwin Safety Manager for oversight and guidance, the small operator experiences all the benefits of a large organization,” says Don Baldwin, President and CEO of Baldwin Aviation.
“We also support 1-2 aircraft departments whose goal is to become IS-BAO compliant. Baldwin’s Statement of Compliance (SOC) program provides the structure and support needed to achieve compliance,” adds Baldwin.
TrainingPort.net’s comprehensive portfolio of online aviation operational safety courses provides the training required by the IS-BAO and other standards for flight departments of any size.
