Aerospace: a very attractive industry!
The Aerospace industry continues growing in France, in Europe and worldwide. In 2014, the French “GIFAS” members have hired 10.000 people. They represent 180.000 jobs, covering every level of experience and training.
Career opportunities do not have enough visibility amongst students and general public.
In 2015, the main challenge is recruiting and training young people, and give them the possibility to acquire more competence in the production jobs, which are not very well known. Paris Air Show is a key player in this field, as it attracts more than 130.000 non-professional visitors, and facilitates contacts between young people, professionals and trainers. The Show is an unrivaled occasion to discover the production jobs, especially from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st of June.
The Production Career Plane
This very original, both practical and didactical exhibition, created by the GIFAS, will stage the crafts who participate in the making of an airplane, an engine and several equipment pieces, on a symbolic assembly chain Workers and technicians will show their craft, and explain their job. “One day” apprentices will be able to try some techniques, with real tools, accessories and single parts. They will also watch movies about the industry universe and the opportunities of career evolution.
Employment and Training Forum
Besides the Career plane, 70 exhibitors from schools, employers, employment organizations will join forces within the Employment & Training Forum, located in the Concorde Hall. This 3 days forum, with 20 conferences, will help young people and students to find information about a career, an internship, and opportunities to graduate for aerospace careers.
On Friday, June 19th, students will have a free access to the Show, under the condition to register previously on www.siae.fr
