Nall Award to the late Leonard Greene and to Randall Greene of Safe Flight Instrument Corporation based in White Plains, NY.  The Award honors Leonard Greene, Founder and Randall Greene President and CEO of Safe Flight for their contributions to aviation safety.
Safe Flight Instrument Corporation is a leading supplier of aviation safety and flight performance systems. The company was founded in 1946 by Leonard Greene with the launch of his innovative concept to provide a warning to the pilot of an impending aerodynamic stall. The wing leading edge flow measurement device that he invented is installed on the vast majority of the world’s fixed-wing aircraft of all types – light personal aircraft, corporate jets, commercial and military transports and tactical/fighter aircraft – from two-seat trainers through airline and military transports.
The Award is named in memory of Joseph T. Nall, who served as a Member of the National Transportation Safety Board from 1986 until his untimely death in 1989 while on official NTSB business in Caracas, Venezuela. The Nall Award is given annually and seeks to recognize those individuals who have made significant contributions to aviation and transportation safety.
The Nall Award was formally presented to Randall and posthumously to his father, Leonard, at the organization’s Law Conference Gala Dinner at the Hudson Theatre on Thursday evening, November 13, 2014 in conjunction with IATSBA Safety Conference at the Millennium Broadway Hotel in New York City on November 12-14, 2014.
