Invitation to participate in new AIAC Labour Market Committee.

The committee will lead industry-government dialogue on skills & training issues in aerospace

You are invited to participate in AIAC’s new Labour Market Committee, which will become operational in February 2017. The committee will be chaired by Stewart Cramer, CEO, Vertex.

Labour market, talent and training issues remain a priority for the aerospace industry, and the government is planning significant policy and program developments for this file. This presents an opportunity for AIAC and its members to help shape the national discussion around skills, training and the labour market over the coming years.

We have already received strong interest in the work of the committee from the Minister and senior government officials, who view AIAC as a natural partner for government and are keen to follow our discussions. In particular, they will be looking for feedback on issues including:

global competitiveness and talent access
skills and people transfer in times of downturn/upturn
labour market data

Canada’s population of skilled aerospace workers and outstanding Universities and Colleges are key global differentiators in today’s market. Industry, academia and the government need to work together now to ensure that we retain this competitive advantage into the future.
