STATEMENT – SUZANNE M. BENOÎT (PRESIDENT, AÉRO MONTRÉAL)
AÉRO MONTRÉAL WELCOMES INTERNATIONAL TRADE COMMISSION RULING.
Montréal, January 26, 2018 – Aéro Montréal, Québec’s aerospace cluster, welcomes the International Trade Commission’s decision to reject 298% countervailing duties imposed on the CSeries. This ruling confirms that programs to support the aerospace industry and innovation are made in accordance with the law.
“The CSeries aircraft uses many suppliers in Québec, so much of the industry will be able to benefit from potential sales in the American market. This is a decision that will support innovation and the principle of competition,” says Suzanne M. Benoît, President of Aéro Montréal. “CSeries aircraft have proven to be highly advanced technologically and this ruling will help maintain thousands of jobs in Canada, the United States and Québec.”
