| ORLANDO, Fla. (October 20, 2014) Rockwell Collins is enhancing its popular ARINCDirect iPad app with a new weight and balance/performance feature that provides business aviation pilots the ability to make accurate computations with or without an Internet connection.
³Last-minute changes are the rule in business aviation‹not the exception‹and this new feature allow pilots to maintain safety in a dynamic environment,² said Bob Richard, staff vice president, ARINCDirect for Rockwell Collins. ³The growing trend for business jet operators to be able to immediately access the information they need regardless of where they are was a key driver for this offering, and another example of how we¹re leading the business aviation movement towards a fully-electronic flight bag.² When the weight and balance/performance report is created using the ARINCDirect website, the enhanced app automatically synchronizes with the customer¹s account, reducing the need to re-enter data while still enabling the crew to make changes with an easy-to-use interface. Other features already available on the ARINCDirect app include real-time access to trip details, weather and terminal area enroute charts. ARINCDirect has also added the ability to filter leg lists by tail number and number of days, pre-departure clearances sent directly to the iPad, a brightness control, and support for adding trips to Apple¹s iCal calendar via iCloud, so they can be viewed on all of a user¹s Apple devices. The enhanced ARINCDirect iPad app with all of these features is available for free in the Apple App Store now.
