SAVANNAH, Georgia, October 9, 2017 — Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. today announced that its long-range Gulfstream G500 and Gulfstream G600 offer even better performance than originally promised.
During rigorous flight testing, the all-new aircraft have exceeded expectations, regularly demonstrating capabilities beyond the company’s initial projections. As a result, Gulfstream is announcing new performance standards for both aircraft.
Upon entry into service, the G600 will deliver 6,500 nautical miles/12,038 kilometers of range at Mach 0.85, 300 nm/556 km farther than the initially promised range of 6,200 nm/11,482 km. At its high-speed cruise of Mach 0.90, the aircraft will fly 5,100 nm/9,445 km, an increase of 300 nm/556 km over original projections.
The G500 can fly 5,200 nm/9,630 km at its long-range cruise speed of Mach 0.85, providing operators even greater mission flexibility over the aircraft’s original 5,000-nm/9,260-km range. At its high-speed cruise of Mach 0.90, the G500 will offer 4,400 nm/8,149 km of range, a 600- nm/1,111-km increase over its projected range of 3,800 nm/7,038 km.
“As we methodically moved through our concurrent flight-test programs, which are going exceptionally well, we recognized we had both the time and ability to enhance G500 and G600 performance and give our customers a business-jet family that’s better than the one we had promised them,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream. “Extracting more capabilities from our aircraft has become a Gulfstream hallmark, the result of creating and maintaining a culture committed to continuous improvement, listening to our customers and exceeding our promises.”
To demonstrate its increased range, a fully outfitted G500 set a potential city-pair record between London and Las Vegas, flying 4,690 nm/8,686 km at an average speed of Mach 0.88 with a 32-knot headwind. Now in Las Vegas, both the G500 and G600 — with fully outfitted interiors — will be part of the Gulfstream static display at the NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition at Henderson Executive Airport. The city-pair record is pending confirmation with the National Aeronautic Association.
Powered by twin Pratt & Whitney Canada PW800-series engines, the G500 and G600 have a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.925 — the same as Gulfstream’s G650 and flagship G650ER.
Even with these performance enhancements, the G500 customer delivery schedule remains the same, with deliveries set for 2018, as originally promised. G500 certification includes additional testing required for this enhanced performance and is anticipated in early 2018. The G600’s anticipated certification and service entry are slated for 2018.

SAVANNAH, Georgia, October 9, 2017 — Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. today announced it is enhancing the interior-design process and maintenance training by leveraging immersive reality tools that complement the personalized offerings available to new and current aircraft owners.
The Gulfstream G500 immersive reality suites feature the Symmetry Flight DeckTM with the company’s exclusive active control sidesticks. With simulations launched through a virtual reality headset, the experience conveys the tactile, easy-to-use nature of Gulfstream’s newest flight deck.
Moving into the cabin, customers can explore Gulfstream’s new interior-design aesthetics that serve as launch points for executing the complete interior-design process. The immersive reality experience gives participants the ability to dynamically visualize the floor plan configuration options and myriad design possibilities.
“The Gulfstream customer journey begins long before aircraft delivery,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream. “With these immersive reality experiences, we have combined our continued investment in technology with our relentless drive to tailor every aspect of the ownership experience to ensure we continue exceeding our customers’ expectations. These technological advances provide a nice complement to the human touch customers get from our team of highly skilled interior designers and completions executives. The result is innovative and hands-on attention that will ensure a seamless, enjoyable outfitting process and enriching training opportunities throughout aircraft ownership.”
The immersive reality experiences are accompanied by Gulfstream’s interior-design resources and a 3-D automatic virtual environment, known as a CAVE. In the CAVE, hand-crafted, bespoke upholsteries, flooring and veneer options and traditional drawings are brought to life in the virtual environment through different floor-plan configurations and a demonstration of how they can be tailored for a range of mission requirements. In-production Gulfstream interiors and their design options can be simulated in the CAVE, resulting in a virtual customization process that puts customers in their aircraft long before it takes flight.
Gulfstream’s immersive reality tools also include the Gulfstream G650 and G650ER for maintenance training. Gulfstream’s Total Technical Training curriculum in immersive reality addresses several maintenance processes. Donning a virtual reality headset, visitors can remove cabin sidewall and flooring panels to reveal systems and experience interactive training processes that help promote safety and dispatch reliability.
The Gulfstream-designed virtual immersive experiences are on display at the 2017 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition and featured at the Gulfstream exhibit (booth N5132) in the Las Vegas Convention Center and at Gulfstream’s static display at Henderson Executive Airport.

SAVANNAH, Georgia, October 9, 2017 — Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. today announced it will increase services to customers with the construction of a new maintenance facility at Van Nuys Airport near Los Angeles and the establishment of a Field and Airborne Support Teams (FAST) unit in the Boston area.
Gulfstream will build a 43,200-square-foot/4,013-square-meter service center in Van Nuys, with nearly 24,000 sf/2,230 sm of attached shop and office space. Gulfstream’s facility will complement an adjacent fixed-based operation run by sister company Jet Aviation. Operations are expected to begin in 2019.
Meanwhile, on the opposite coast of the United States, a Gulfstream FAST unit, which comprises factory-trained technicians and a custom truck outfitted with equipment and spare parts, will be based at Jet Aviation’s facility at Hanscom Field in Bedford, Massachusetts.
There are more than 130 Gulfstream aircraft based at Van Nuys Airport, the busiest business aviation airport in Southern California, and nearly 20 at Hanscom Field.
“These additions to our product support network will keep us well-positioned to accommodate operators located at or traveling through these busy corridors for Gulfstream aircraft,” said Derek Zimmerman, president, Gulfstream Product Support. “They will also help us prepare for the upcoming deliveries of our two new aircraft, the Gulfstream G500 and G600, and enhance our ability to provide a world-class customer experience.”

Gulfstream Van Nuys will initially focus on line maintenance and serve as the new base of operations for the FAST unit in place at Van Nuys Airport since late 2013. Operators whose aircraft require heavier maintenance can continue to use Gulfstream Long Beach, the company- owned service center approximately 45 miles away.
Gulfstream FAST provides 24/7 customer support and includes specially equipped vehicles in the U.S. and Europe, more than 125 dedicated technicians worldwide and two dedicated aircraft based in the U.S.
