AHS International — The Vertical Flight Technical Society — is the world’s only international technical society for engineers, scientists and others working on vertical flight technology. Since it was founded in 1943 as the “American Helicopter Society” — just as the first American helicopter was being put into service — the Society has been the primary forum for interchange of information on vertical flight technology.

 

At HeliExpo on Tuesday, March 7 @ 10 am, AHS International Executive Director Mike Hirschberg will provide a media briefing on “The Future of Vertical Flight”:

 

1. The 2017-2015 World Market Forecast for rotorcraft production (civil and military)
2. Updates on advanced rotorcraft in development (civil and military)
3. The promise and progress of electric VTOL aircraft (e.g. Uber’s “urban air taxis”)
4. The AHS 73rd Annual Forum, which will be held May 9-11 in Fort Worth, Texas

 

The presentation will be held in the HAI News Conference Room D222 on Tuesday, March 7 @ 10 am — immediately following the “State of Sikorsky” press briefing.
