White Plains, NY, March 31, 2016– Dawne S. Hickton, former Vice Chair, President and Chief Executive Officer of RTI International Metals, Inc. (RTI) has been elected to the Board of Directors of Corporate Angel Network.
“Dawne’s years of business and legal leadership provide an outstanding basis for the contribution she will make to the work of Corporate Angel Network,” said Randall Greene, Chairman of the organization.
Dawne led the transformation of RTI, a vertically-integrated, global supplier of advanced titanium and specialty metal products and services to commercial aerospace, defense, energy, medical device and other customers across the entire supply chain, from 2007 through 2015. During that time, this NYSE listed business experienced tremendous growth as a result of new aerospace contracts, vertical integration and a series of acquisitions. As a result, Dawne was able to successfully negotiate the $1.5 billion sale of RTI to Alcoa (NYSE:AA).
“I am honored to be part of a truly wonderful group of business leaders who provide a much needed benefit to cancer patients by utilizing unused corporate assets for a good cause through the Corporate Angel Network,” stated Ms. Hickton.
Dawne is a graduate of the University of Rochester. She went on to earn her J.D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Dawne began her legal career as a corporate attorney for USX Corporation where she represented USX and its subsidiaries in complex litigation. She was an assistant professor of clinical law at the University of Pittsburgh prior to joining RTI as general counsel and progressed to the position of Vice Chair, President and CEO.
Corporate Angel Network, in operation since 1981, arranges free transportation to treatment for cancer patients using empty seats in corporate aircraft.
