São José dos Campos, Brazil, July 15, 2015 – In the end of the second quarter of 2015 (2Q15), Embraer’s (NYSE: ERJ; BM&FBOVESPA: EMBR3) firm order backlog reached USD 22.9 billion, the highest level in the Company’s history. At the end of the previous quarter, in March 2015, the firm order backlog totaled USD 20.4 billion.
During 2Q15, the Company delivered 27 jets to the commercial aviation market and 33 jets to the business aviation market, for a total of 60 aircraft – compared to 58 aircraft delivered the same period last year.
The main highlights of the quarter were USD 2.6 billion in firm orders at current list prices, announced at the Paris International Air Show. This included seven E190 for China’s Colorful Guizhou Airlines, eight E175 for SkyWest Airlines, which will be operated by Alaska Airlines, ten E175 for United Express and 15 E190-E2 and ten E195-E2 for the lessor Aircastle – excluding options and purchase rights under the contracts.
In May, Embraer had already announced an order for 22 aircraft (20 E195 and two E190-E2) from Tianjin Airlines, making it the first Chinese airline to order the E-Jets E2. In the same period, another contract was announced with Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras SA for the firm order of 30 E195-E2 jets.
