PARIS AIR SHOW, Paris, June 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Boeing has selected UTC Aerospace Systems for multiple systems for the new Boeing 777X large, twin-engine jet. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

UTC Aerospace Systems’ 777X electric power generating system is a completely new main electrical generation system, providing 25 percent more power than the current 777 system, which is also supplied by UTC Aerospace Systems. The 777X system comprises two 150 kVA integrated drive generators, an auxiliary generator, three generator control units and a bus power control unit.
UTC Aerospace Systems will also supply the cabin air conditioning and temperature control system, airfoil and cowl ice protection system, and the complete ventilation system suite of fans. These three systems will provide increased performance, enhanced reliability and improved passenger comfort.
Other UTC Aerospace Systems include the fire/overheat protection system, power door opening system (PDOS) actuation, and a new, lighter weight cargo loading system, with enhanced power drive units and controls.
UTC Aerospace Systems will also provide the cabin attendant seating, brakes, main wheels and nose wheels. The 777X brakes use our DURACARB® carbon brake material, which provides 35 percent greater brake life than competing materials.
In addition UTC Aerospace Systems will supply a suite of sensors for various 777X functions, including specialty heating, waste and water management, and air data systems such as angle of attack, temperature and pitot pressure, for enhanced flight safety and efficiency.
