The Aerospace Industries Association capped off a phenomenally important and successful year as The Voice of American Aerospace and Defense in 2017 with a speech from President and CEO David F. Melcher at AIA’s 53rd Annual Media Luncheon on December 14, 2017 in Washington, D.C.
Attended by more than 300 representatives from across the aerospace and defense media and industry, Melcher’s speech highlighted AIA’s successful advocacy from regulatory reform and budget stability to re-activation of the National Space Council and record participation in our signature STEM education effort, the Team America Rocketry Challenge. He also issued a clarion call on the work that’s still ahead.
“Each of us should feel a palpable sense of urgency about the need to tackle the issues facing our industry, our government and our nation,” Melcher said in his speech. “As a society, we must do what’s necessary now to put our industry, which is so essential to America’s strength, security and prosperity, on a more sustainable, healthy footing.”
AIA’s robust advocacy on behalf of an industry 2.4 proud men and women strong will continue into 2018 – at the Media Luncheon AIA released several key advocacy pieces that reveal its direction in the years ahead. Please click on the links below to read:
